When my family decided to have a summer outing and do some swimming, I decided to purchase a waterproof camera. I have heard that Olympus has it but I decided to go for Canon because I have been a Canon user for long and was very satisfied of its performance. Just a week ago, I have purchased my Canon Powershot D10 at a local store and I was amazed of its performance. With its ability to stand underwater up to 10 meters, I tried this feature when we have our summer outing 3 days ago and take photos of my kids underwater and the photos are amazing. The camera lens is still clear. It is not foggy at all and does not have any water spot visible in the photos taken. The quality is superbly sharp and the colors are vivid, which is very impressing for a below $500 camera.
The only downturn I can see Canon Powershot D10 is the missing lens cap, which I think is one of the important part of a camera that should be covered and taking cared off. In addition, I would love it to have the function that lets the user to control the flash output. Other than that, I have nothing to ask for this camera. Starts out fast enough and the basic feature of a canon digital camera are present like the preset setting modes that allows you to take sharp photos even if you are just new to taking photos. All you have to do is to set the settings into a corresponding mode that suites well enough on your subject. Set the camera to landscape when taking photos of your favorite plants or to kids and pets if taking photos on your active children or to night mood to have sharp photos even at night and so on.
